water Heater

had trouble with water heater yesterday, took a cold shower. turns out there was no power going to it. did some testing and i guess the breaker was bad, what cause the breaker to go bad ? anyway, since i didnt have a spare breaker available at home late last night i switched it for the one to the garage heater since we dont need that right now. now this morning the water is so hot it burns you, its never been that hot before. whats up with that i wonder ?

Re: water Heater

The thermostat on the heater is bad?
One of the elements is shorted to ground? The stat only switches one hot and the other hot is heating to ground?

Re: water Heater

IF the tank is old I would suggest replacing it. Check the serial number date code. No point it beating a dead fish. Or even a horse.
