Water filter purchase

Hi,
I find myself changing our whole house filter 5 micron- every 2 months or less. If I don't the water pressure really decreases. When taking out the filter , it us orange and sludge - like.

We also have a reverse osmosis system under our kitchen sink it has 2 charcoal and 1 sediment 5 micron that I change every 4 months.

Anyways, anyone know of any good places online to buy from in bulk?

I just Baught 2 sediment filters from home depot for 10$.

I know there are a lot of experienced plumbers and posters who ewal with well small water works.

Can anyone suggest another filter system of reasonable value keeping in mind the frequency of me having to change filters..... do they make reusable filters? Mine end up with an orange sludge and aren't reusable

A lot of orange sludge isn't "normal" (for most areas of the country). Are you on city water or well water? Have you had the water tested?

And something that won't compromise pressure

Well water......it's only after 2 months

Have you tried it with out the filter?
If the filter was not in place would the softener still work?
Comp hardness at 36???
Raw 1.8
After softener .15
And what is it between the filter and the softener?

chillz911 11-13-2015 02:20 PM

No I haven't. ...the softener would still work I am sure.
