Water conditioning: which comes first?

I live in Central Florida where we have terrible ground water, My water is very high in Iron, and sulfur, in addition to being very hard. I was given a Potassium perm system and purchased a used water softener that has a brine tank. M y question(s) Can both systems work together? Also, which system should be installed first (after the bladder tank) ? I'm thinking first a whole house sediment filter, then installing the potassium perm filter, then the salt softener.
Anyone feel like expressing thier thoughts or opinions?

The potassium perm then softener Link has a nice picture. Page 8 but read your instructions for your equipment.
