yeah, irfanview is my default viewer for a long long time now, but I wouldn't know how to get a pic from the irfanview into here.

in order to get the pic into a url address for here I put it into dropbox, but it won't go from dropbox into here either.

Is it possible to go direct from irfanview into here?

ok, i seen your pics. it looks like water can get into the chimney from the very top.
you should get up there and see what the top of the chimney looks like.
and post a pic of the chimney, inside.

well, I hope those pics are visible.

If so, you can see the hill in back yard where the water drains in from, which I'm planning to grade into 2 or 3 flat tiers with retaining walls, and with drain systems underground with the gravel and abs pipe and all that, and that will drain the above and below ground water to around the house. You might be able to see where my dog has already begun work to do the excavating!

You can see the base of the chimney where the water springs out of for days or weeks after rain. Like jimn says, obviously the attempted waterproofing job is a complete failure and waste. You can see the dried up water marks from the last time it rained.

The other pic is of the low spot that is the filled-in old sump pump where water collects from the chimney base and some other places. You can see the newer sump pump looking uphill into the corner of the floor. You can see the small pump I rigged up there that pumps the collected water from the low spot up into the sump pump pit in the corner.

Even after doing all the work out back, there will probably sometimes be a need for a way to pump out of that low spot into the sump pump. I don't know what their thinking was when doing the previous water proofing job, but maybe they thought they'd be clever and get the sump pump out of the middle of the floor and into a corner, lol. Maybe it has something to do with the way their abs pipes under the concrete floor run into the newer sump pump, and need to go to a corner for some reason.
