Vent placement

Hi.
Before I ask my question, let me give you a brief over view.

My son is remodeling a bathroom.

The shower stall is the last fixture on the waste line.

My question is can the vent for the shower trap be at the very end of the line, or must it be between the trap and the stack. Either way it will tie into the vents in the attic.

Thank you in advance

Ralph
