Installing a vanity in a corner. As you can see the corner is not exactly 90degrees. Didn't expect it to be.
I'm putting in a quartz top.
1. How do I handle the discing between the vanity and wall? Because of the profile, I can't just put a spacer down the side to fill the gap.
2. Related to 1, how much if any of a overhang should I have in the wall side? I am planning on installing a backsplash and sidesplash.

I would sand the side so it it fit into the corner, I have also cut a slot out of the trim to apply a filler over to the wall

And to get the right colour for that spacer I stole the top rail off the back of the cupboard, don't tell anyone.

Am I missing something? If you’re putting a quartz countertop on,
they should be able to fit the countertop to the side wall.
I’m sure they run into this problem a lot.

The space below will be fine, it’ll just need a vacuuming
occasionally with the hose attachment. good luck.

I'm trying to determine if the vanity should be up against the wall with no overhang of the quartz top, or if I should have the quartz overhang 1/2 in against the side wall.
If the top overhangs, then the vanity needs to be away from the wall.

I will have a back splash and a side splash.

So are you saying, that instead of trying to copy all the contours of the cabinet to make a spacer, I should just cut a slot/notch in them on the side so the trim piece is flat ?

I think up against the wall is fine - with no spacer on the side of the vanity.

Choose a different vanity base.
Look for something with some extra for 'scribing' on the right.

He already has the vanity and asking opinions on how to
do the countertop. Son just put in two bathrooms in his house
(DIY) He ran into this situation and ended the counters at the
wall, no scribing, no fill in - it looks very nice... and yes, he has
a space between the vanity and the wall.

If it's a prefab top, the overhang will be determined for you.

Furniture-style vanities are meant to be held away from the wall, so there would be no issues with off-kilter gaps, qtips and band-aid wrappers stuck down the side, and painting in the future.

moosehead, are you set on the sidesplash? I personally
like vanities without a sidesplash.

Here’s two pics of the vanity that I mentioned just ending at the wall.
counter dies into side wall without a sidesplash, just a backsplash - neat and clean.

If the counter TOP dies into the side wall, nothing can fall down next to the vanity.

There is no "over hang" on the right hand side of that vanity top. As the top will sit tight against the drywall to the right.

If the vanity sat 12 inches away from the wall to the right then yes, the vanity top on the right hand end would need "overhang" of about 3/4 of an inch.

As KT said, the top maker should sand the top to fit the wall on the right nicely. And that crack showing where the vanity now meets the wall, only the very short people in the home will see it. And the vanity is standing off of the right side wall anyway, because of the baseboard.
