Under Sink Help

I recently had to replumb under my sink, (I removed the garbage disposal), and the picture below is what I came up with. There is a small drip (leak) coming from that fitting with the arrow pointing to it. I can't tell if it's coming from the top of that fitting where white meets black, or if it's coming from the bottom of that fitting. I've never used one of those flex pieces before. I replaced the cone shaped gasket that goes in there but it still leaks.

Any advice is appreciated. I despise plumbing for this reason. Something ALWAYS leaks and it's a P.I.T.A. to find it and fix it.

Re: Under Sink Help

Get rid of the flexy thing and rearrange the pipes so that the sink drain go straight down into the trap.

Re: Under Sink Help

The tee joining the 2 sinks should go straight down to the trap. Get rid of the accordion tail piece.

Re: Under Sink Help

Your next post may be the trap will not line up where it connects to the tee even if it's turned all the way around.
A whole new PVC trap with a longer tail piece is less than $10.00.
Tail piece cut to size.

I know I'm going to have to reconfigure the pipe coming in from the wall. You're right, the tee doesn't line up with the trap no matter where I turn it:

The problem is trying to figure out where to cut that pipe coming in from the wall. It was already cut and spliced once so there's not much room. Wherever I can cut there's just barely enough room to glue a new coupling, so if I get it wrong I'm screwed.

I'm thinking of cutting it off here, gluing a 45* and then coming out straight. It still won't line up perfect but I think I can get it close enough so I can swivel the trap and line it up.

Re: Under Sink Help

Stop using the cement trap. Install a trap adapter on the pipe coming out of the wall and use tubular trap/fittings after that.
