Trying to help a friend, and trying to avoid calling a plumber if possible. She has a thermostatic shower valve which was installed in 2004. Since then, it had worked flawlessly, until today. The temperature range used to be from cold to hot (maybe 125-130F). As of today, it goes from cold to barely warm (maybe 80-85F). Does anyone know if this is a simple fix, or are we looking at a new valve?
I tried to take it apart to have a look, but when I loosen the screw under the small cap in the front, it just makes the temperature control loose, but I can't get it off. I'm afraid to pull to hard and break it. Any advice on that one?
