What does the owners manual say about that error code? Start there.

You're in luck, there are a couple water treatment techs that frequent this forum, please wait for one of them to respond. Thanks.

In your manual, does it have anything about running a diagnostic test to test all components of the water softener as you observe it?

Most have some sort of self-testing feature which can help diagnose the problem. Try to determine which component is failing.

Using one of the Clack valves, that is if I pulled the correct information.

Did not see a 001 but did find a 1001 error code...in that it could not recognize start of regeneration.

Was there any kind of work done to the system?

water softener

I did a complete reset and then followed the book. Maybe there was some small piece of grit in the screw..so far so good.

Thanks guys for all the advice.
