Sump pump stuck on all night - replace or fix switch?

Got up this morning and heard a hum from basement. Zoeller 53D stuck on pumping no water. Unit was warm, plug was warm. Float no effect. Likely switch failure. Was just going to replace the switch but 2 things bugging me:
  1. With it being left on and running hot for undetermined period of time, possibly damaged or other components?
  2. Inside switch housing obvious signs of some water and corrosion. See pic below.

I suggest replacing the float switches. If you try to repair the switches they will be a constant worry that they might fail again.

Re: Sump pump stuck on all night - replace or fix switch?

Thanks for the reply. I would definitely replace the switch, not try to repair. I guess my main question is whether being stuck on for a long period and getting hot for a long time is likely to have damaged another component. And while the new switch will likely fix stuck on problem, having run hot uncooled for that long is other failure possible? It was very warm to the touch.
