Sump Pump Battery/Water-powered Pump

Do they sell a battery that I can hook up to my current AC (corded) sump pump for power outages?
The only battery backup sump pumps I've found come with a pump and I'm not looking for another pump.
Also, every job is different of course but can a plumber give me a ballpark cost on installing a water powered backup pump? Low end to high end would be awesome.
Thanks!

There are battery pack inverters that will provide power for an existing 110 volt pump--they use 4 marine batteries and are available only to plumbers---bring a check book---the batteries alone will set you back $250 or so---then there is the case and inverter---a few hundred more.

The water powered pumps cost $300 to $500 AND can be installed on a home system that uses city water (not well)---they are dependable---but many cities do not allow the use of them--so check before you get your heart set on one.

They are rather expensive to operate--no big deal for a few hours--but a real wallet crusher if you are out of power for a day or three.

A generator might be the cheapest insurance--coupled with a regular battery operated backup pump.

Not sure about your neck of the woods, but here where I am we are required to install an ASSE 1013 backflow preventer to all water powered backup sump pumps. Factor that cost in to the equation. couple of hundred for the BFP plus install
