Sink drains/p-trap?

I didn't think I'd have to ask this question, but after getting to the Home Depot I wasn't overwhelmed.

I rain 1.5" PVC through the wall for my plumbing rough ins. Now it's time to think about going from the rough in to the sink.

They have P-trap kits, which seem to offer compression fittings that make it look like an easy install, but the plastic looks awfully flimsy.

Then there's PVC p-traps: some seem to have a little nipple on the bottom, and others have a screw-on connection on one end and glue-on female end on the other.

What is the proper P-trap to use?

Re: Sink drains/p-trap?

I'm curious about this as well. The PVC is much sturdier but I would prefer compression fittings in case I ever want to remove the trap (like if I drop something down the sink).
Renovations to my 1947 home can be followed here:

Re: Sink drains/p-trap?

Use the compression style, it will work fine and be easy to get off to clean out the drain and trap.
Only one I've seen break is when it froze.
