Shower with varying pressure

Hey all, lately our shower has had inconsistent water pressure and it never used to be like that. The faucet is almost 6 years old and this is an area with hard water, although we do have a water softener.

I assume I need to replace something in the faucet but I'm not sure how far I need to go. It's a Delta T17030 and the cartridge is on the expensive side. There is something called a "cartridge adapter" that is much more affordable:

Do you think this could be the problem or do you think I need to look into replacing the entire cartridge?

Thanks!

Re: Shower with varying pressure

If you think the cartridge is gummed up, take it out and soak it in some CLR. Do the same with the shower head. That will just cost you some time and a little CLR.

If that doesn't work, call Delta and get a free cartridge, they are guaranteed for life

Re: Shower with varying pressure

I did soak the shower head a while back and it didn't make a difference, so I will give that a try with the cartridge. Thanks for the info on Delta.

We have Lime-Away. Will that work as well as CLR?

Never used lime away, give it a shot and see.
