Are sewage pumps design to run continuously?

Good evening. Can you run a sewage pump continuously for a long period of time as long as they stay submerged in cold water? One person commented on eBay about a Flotec model FPSE3601-a. He used that pump not to pump sewage from a pit but to pump fresh water from a stream. He claims to have kept it running 24/7 for about 5 months a year for 10 years.

Can sewage pump's be used for other things or are they only designed for sewage? Can you keep them running continuously as long as they stay submerged in cold water?

would hate to pay the power bill from faulty design;
grinder pump should not be used for potable water IMO.

Peace

Ayuh,.... Lotsa stuff is used in ways it's not designed for,....

Donno how long that pump might last, as You haven't said exactly what purpose you propose,.....

That pump will flow water, but not hold, or build any real pressure,....
