sewage ejection pump sucks water out of toilet

Just noticed for the past several weeks, every time when my sewage ejection pump in the basement is running, the water in the toilet bowl get sucked out. This happens to all three toilets in my house, from basement to 2nd fl. My first response is blocked vent. But I do not have drainage issue so far (knock on wood). The shower, sinks are fine. It is snowy and cold in MA now, so I don't know if I can go up to the roof to check. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I agree, blocked vent. May be snowed in and/or frozen.

Do you have a vent coming off the lift tank?

Do all three toilets go to the ejector pump? Usually only the lowest toilet needs the pump.

yes, only the lowest toilet in the basement connects to the sewage ejection pump. But when it is on, all three toilets lose water. Feel like a strong vacuum suck the water out. But I can bring water level in the bowl back to normal by just flushing the toilet.

May I suggest you stop using the lower basement level until it warms up for the vent to thaw?

The sewage ejection pit should have its own separate vent pipe. That is probably where the blockage is.

we don't use basement now. The water is from the condensation from two furnaces. So the pump only runs every several days.

I agree with the others. The vent is clogged. When the water is pumped out, air needs to be able to enter the tank/pit. If the vent is clogged then it will suck from the next easiest point, which is your toilets.

Another vote for a blocked or restricted vent. The ejector pump pushes water faster than regular gravity fixtures which may explain why they work ok and why it may just be restricted with snow or ice.
