I'm researching switching my electric stove to gas.
Whats a ballpark $ on having a gas line and hookup installed if im running line approximately 15 feet (to basement) or 30 feet (to feed outside house)?
Also, is this a job a competent family handyman can do?
Always hard to get a quotes on a forum. Best to call a couple reputable companies in your area. Around here, certified gas fitters/master plumbers get 150 dollars an hour for labor plus materials. They will not use any parts/materials bought or supplied by homeowners. Your area may be totally different.
If you do diy, follow your local gas piping guidelines for homeowners in Iowa. (see link below). You may also have to rent tools and find a place that cuts and threads pipe. Pros have all the necessary tools and skills to do the job.
