Running hot water causes crackling noise in walls

Just moved into a used house with pvc plumping. When I run the hot water in the master sink, the wall behind the sink makes crackling noises, like the wall is expanding due to the heat. When I turn off the water, it continues to makes noises for a few minutes while it cools.
My wife says the house is haunted?!!

Is there a potential plumbing issue in the wall? The pipes come in through the crawl space.
Any suggestions?

The noise is just your pipes expanding and contracting from the hot water, ours does the same thing and has for many years.
