replacing showerhead

I have a Kohler shower kit with a handshower and regular showerhead. I bought a new Kohler showerhead but when I took the old one off there is an adapter on it to screw into the diverter piece. I tried to remove it to put it on the new showerhead but it won't budge. I called Kohler and they are sending me a screen washer. I didn't know that until I hung up with them. They are useless. Any suggestions? thanks.

It would help with a picture as suggested by Mike. Sometimes sediment build up makes it hard to unscrew the adapter from shower head. Spray some pb blaster or wd40, tap it a few times with the handle of a screwdriver, let in sit for awhile, and try again. Use 2 wrenches one on the adapter and one on the shower head.

If all else fails, they sell those adapters at any big box store and you can just replace it. Take the whole thing with you to match it up.

If I'm picturing this right, looks something like this; Just a suggestion. Others with be along with more suggestions/advice.
