Remove a broken end of a copper pipe


Can anyone explain how to remove a broken end of a copper pipe thats sweated into the valve?

If you can grab any of the stub with a pair of vice grips--then heat it up and pull out the stub---

It might be easier to cut out the valve and replace that along with the broken stub.
