Proper way to join ABS and PVC

To the plumbing experts: what would be the best way for me to connect a PVC sump pump line to the exsiting ABS line? What type of fitting should be used. I also want something than can easily be separated should i need to replace or repair the pump.

cheers

Use either an ABS or PVC fitting and use glue compatible to both. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Weld-On-...0274/206534679

Use a threaded connection.

The combination ABS/PVC glue will not pass code for a reason.

They make it ease out here, sewer lines are ABS and storm sewer is PVC and septic fields, the two never meet.

That's what I was hoping for. It would
Make disconnecting in the future much easier. Is a rubber sleeve with clamps suitable for PVC to abs?

That will blow off under pressure, intended for drain lines.

Use a PVC or ABS union and transitional cement.

The pressure from the pump can blow that off. You need a union.

This would be against most local codes. Where allowed, this cement is only approved for a connection in a low pressure drain/waste/sewer connection, not for general use. At least that has always been my understanding.

Well, duh, that's what he is connecting. It will hold far better than a fernco at any rate.

OP was asking about his sump pump line which includes the check valve. This is a pressure system, duh.

Re: Proper way to join ABS and PVC

He must have solid connections. A fernco won't work. The only solution he has is to use glue made for the transition materials. I don't know of any "codes" that prohibit the use of these glues and materials. The pressure he will be experiencing is short lived and not up to 65 psi as house water would be on a pressure line.
