pressure relief valve


Pressure relief valve on hot water tank was installed and is slightly cocked towards the left. If a back it off a little to add drain pipe am I chancing a leak?

Backing off a little usually doesn't cause leaks if teflon tape was used on the threads.

On high pressure fittings I limited reversing to a quarter turn.

Agree with senior. If no tape was used, turn wh off, drain a few gallons till its under prv, uninstall prv and reinstall it using tape. Stop at the correct position. Ezpz 123Z.

If its just slightly crooked and you can live with it, just leave it alone.
