Plumbing Below Concrete Slab

Hi all,

I'm trying to add a bathroom above an existing concrete slab. I was going to cut into the concrete to create a trench to put the plumbing into.

My question is, is there a certain depth below the surface of the slab that the drainage pipes need to be below? Or can I put the pipes basically right below the surface of the slab as long as I have the proper slope?

Any help would be much appreciated...thanks!!

Normally the depth would be determined by the pipe you would be tying into to drain. So perhaps you should start there.
