Old house old plumbing

I have lived in this house for over 10 years now, I've heard a gurgle once or twice and I happen to be redoing some drywall in the basement so I started looking into the plumbing so on and so forth. I have read a lot about proper venting and dangerous problems when not have proper venting... so I was starting to wonder what was done because this house was built in 1940 something with I believe 2 additions being completed in 1970. So I'm sure bathrooms have moved and plumbing has been tapped into for all this stuff.. I have attached a drawing of what I can comprehend as what's going on. Really don't think this is good time to tear house apart trying to add in venting. Take a look at what is going on tell me what you think.. I have done some research and explained how set up to couple people I know and seems to be wet vent maybe?

thank you for the help
Shawn

Re: Old house old plumbing

I have no idea of code in Canada, but here in upstate NY in the US we can not have our sump pump discharge into the main sewer system like that. Don't know if that's your problem or not. Just guessing.

It could be a venting or partial clogged issue as you stated.

Please wait for the plumbers to respond. Thank you.

I think it depends on the town or city. I know you can't in the Town I live in but it used to be allowed. If yours was like that though you're grandfathered in and don't have to change it.

Re: Old house old plumbing

It was like this since first built I believe and they actually used to have a shower drain into sump pump... We eliminated that capped off drain right away....
