New Water shut off valve still leaking

Hi, I recently changed a water shut off valve foe my bathroom sink. It still dripping after I replaced it. I can't seem to figure out why. Everything seems tight. Any idea would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: New Water shut off valve still leaking

Multi turn stop valves suck. Use 1/4 turn ball valves.

Did you clean out the crud that is often backed up at the end of the pipe at the stop valve, especially the hot water side? Crud can clog up multi turn valves and keep them from sealing.

If it is a sweat on valve, they can be damaged from the heat. Best to take them apart if possible or cover with a wet rag when sweating. I prefer to use threaded stops and sweat on a male threaded fitting.

Where is it leaking, the stem, the outlet, where it connects to the pipe?

I can't figure out where it leaks but it's a brand new valve. I'll try the switch to a 1/4 turn valve.
