New construction toilet installation

Hello..looking for some advice and suggestions.

I'll be installing a toilet in my basement. The 4" pipe needs to be cut (it's about 2' tall now) for the toilet flange. Also..the 4" pipe isn't straight..it has a noticeable lean to it. So my questions are...

1. How much of the 4" pipe to I leave above the floor to install the flange to?

2. Being there's not much I can do with the 4" pipe leaning a bit..and tips tricks to make sure I have a good seal? I'm assuming the flange when installed will not be level to the floor.

I've read that the leaning pipe probably isn't that big of a deal as the wax ring should adjust for this. But if there's something I can do now to make sure..I'd like to

A couple of pics

Thanks!

Re: New construction toilet installation

Is that a picture of a 4 inch female flange? Why would you not just get the correct flange that allows one to glue into the interior of your pipe. A 3 by 4 flange.

Re: New construction toilet installation

Yeah.. It's a 4" female flange.

The 3x4 at HomeDepot fit super sloppy inside a 4in pipe. At least the 4" pipe they have at the store. Even the other 3x4s (drain..plastic toilet flange..etc) didn't seem to fit right.

I mean I could move the flange side to side inside the 4" pipe. It wasn't much..but I could still move it

Is that normal?

Use one of these

Fits inside the 4" PVC pipe and has a gasket.
