Moen shower seat install - does it compromise water proofing

I am planning to place a foldable shower seat in my shower and it involves drilling screws into the tile. This means the water proof red-guarded cement board layer will be penetrated. Is that an issue?

I was planning on placing opposite the shower fixture. Bad idea?

Thanks

You should be able to put silicone behind the brackets to waterproof it but I would make sure I had real good blocking strong enough that it would take what ever abuse two people could come up with.

2x4s. I see youíre thinking through all possible scenarios.

Tenants would lose part of their deposit if I had to fix that.

They make free-standing shower seats/stools. Might be an option.

Yep Iíve seen them. Donít look as sleek. Plus they occupy space. This seat folds up.

Have a look at what they do to hang a wall mount toilet. I think I would want a steel frame in the wall with bolts sticking out of the wall.
