Low Kitchen Faucet Pressure

Hello,

I have a spray-hose type (Julien Wave) faucet that has lost pressure last couple of days. The cold water is fed from T-Junction which also feeds AquaPure1000 filtration system (with separate outlet faucet). The filter is about year old so I ordered a new one. I read that when the filter is old, the FILTERED water pressure gets low (and even stop), but could this somehow lower the main faucet pressure? The filtered water pressure seems as usual.

I thought about detaching the faucet line from the T and connect directly to the main inlet to test if it is in fact the old filter, but with such little room to work under the sink, perhaps I should just wait??

Also, Could having old filter caused debrees the go back to the faucet and clogged the spray head? I detached the spray head but it is in one piece and no way to look inside to clean it.

One reason I think that it is not the old filter is that even the hot water seems lower.

Being a novice at DIY, I am hesistant to start taking things apart and just wait to test with the new filter when it arrives.

Just from what I have described, what do you think has happened?

Thank you.

Re: Low Kitchen Faucet Pressure

When I get a low flow fixture it has always been due to mineral deposits in the aerator. It's easy to remove the aerator and soak in either vinegar or lime-away. If they are really bad or damaged they are easy to replace. This will get the fixture flowing like new again.
