A few months ago I had our backyard anti-frost faucet replaced. Came home from work today to the sound of running water. I guess one of the kids left the faucet turned on with the splitter valves off from the weekend and maybe it blew a gasket at the top? Either that or it was coincidental.

I unscrewed the top cap as shown - is this serviceable or do I need a whole new faucet? If so, how do I take it apart past here? I tried prying the white piece up with a flathead but it didn't budge.

No water leaks with the valve off.

Disregard - I was able to fix it. Just needed channel locks to unscrew the plastic cap and reset the gasket. No more leaks.

Re: Leaking outdoor faucet

Good to hear ---

to answer your first question--(other members have this issue)-
Yes---the cap hides a plastic valve assembly---replacement is as simple as removing the old one and popping in a new one---last time I needed one it cost less than $5.00

Re: Leaking outdoor faucet

It's located right next to the sillcocks in the plumbing aisle in most box stores.
