Kitchen side sprayer leaks from depressor. Bought a new one, same thing.

I have a single-handle kitchen faucet that I bought about 10 years ago from Home Expo (it was like a Home Depot but for designer stuff). There's no brand info on it. About a year ago the side sprayer started leaking down the depressor every time I used the faucet. I disassembled it and adjusted a screw (which adjusted some part of the depressor slightly) but no difference.

Fast forward to now, about a year later. Since I couldn't find out the original manufacturer I bought a universal replacement side sprayer, a Danco 10332. I installed it and... it has the exact same problem.

So, is it just a really strange coincidence that both leak from the same spot or is something else going on here? Should I buy a different side sprayer from Home Depot? One thing I noticed when I was putting the replacement in is the original side sprayer hose connected to the faucet by going through some what looks like a small check valve connector (a connector with a little piece of rubber in the middle) but it could have been a pressure regulator, I don't know. I left it in place.

Another thing, probably not relevant to the leak problem above but may be of interest: An installation problem I had was the pipe threading connections on the faucet to the side sprayer are very unusual and may be foreign. The threads are closer together like a compression connector but it isn't one. I think it may be something called M15, that's the closest thing I can find on the internet that looks similar. I ended up cutting the old hose in half and buying a 1/4 mip w/ barb from Home Depot that I stuck in the old hose and tightened with a hose clamp, then I connected that to the new hose.

Thanks for any advice.

That looks like a relative of my 13-YO Mico seashore faucet. Body is different but handle, nut holding handle down, spout and end of spout are similar. Our faucet was by Mico designs. Took me a while too to find info about since it wasn't very common. I had to look for info because I had to replace the ceramic valve , which was being sold here in the US for $100! The valve was Kerox, from Hungary, which I later bought from an overseas eBay seller for less than a third of the US price.

Thanks. I'll send them an e-mail and find out what it costs, but I have a feeling based on the googling I just did that it's going to be really really expensive. Can anyone think of any ideas why the generic danco replacement would have the same problem? I'm guessing no since nobody else replied but hoping someone sees this.

Could have gunk built up in it. Take spray nozzle off hose and flush it out.

The hose or the nozzle? Both are brand new. The nozzle seems to work ok except for the leak. I just leave it in the sink for now so when the water is on it doesn't drip on the counter.

Mico wrote me back and says it's not their faucet. Also, that the warranty on their faucets is only 5 years. It looks similar to that seashore faucet, so I'm surprised. Anyone have any other ideas?

Well after about a month or two the new sprayer just stopped leaking. Nobody knows why. I'd investigate but I think why mess with it now. It's been working fine for the last two months. Strange!

My garden hose reel was leaking in the spring and now it's OK.
Don't know why, but it happens.

Like a valve that leaks when you open it and then stops.

Your faucet is a Home Depot exclusive "Pegasus" brand. They used that spray head on many of their kitchen faucets. All junk, all go bad. Has lifetime warranty but no customer service to call!!!????? Easy to warranty for life when you have NO intention of making parts available..."Pegasus" was and still is Home Depot's more expensive and considerably lower quality cousin to their "Glacier Bay" faucets.
