How to run a discharge line for a water softener through the foundation

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has run across my situation. I am on a septic field and I don't want to discharge my water softener into the septic system. I contact the local plumbing inspector and it is ok to drain it into a french drain on my property. My question is how to exit the home. I have a walk out basement and the basement floor is about 5 foot above grade. It seems like the best option would be to go through the foundation on either side of the house. I don't know if I should go above grade use a freeze less sump pump drain or go below grade. Should either option have a trap on the inside of the house?

I have installed many of water softeners, however, I have never drained them anywhere else but the floor drain that goes to a city sewer.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Run a 1.5 inch drain into the house and then just run your softener discharge 3/4 to the inside of the 1.5 inch drain in the house. Leave it loose at that point to prevent a cross connection.
Outside make sure the drain is pitched at all points to the disposal point.

The larger outside pipe will help prevent it freezing shut.

You really should run it to a down spout.

I run mine into my sump discharge line. As mentioned, lots of slope to drain the line on the cold side. You can go up before you go down but check with the manufacturer for recommended distances. No traps needed.
