how do I stop this type of faucet from dripping?

hello, I'm new here and I have an old faucet that is dripping and I have cut the water off and removed the stem but I'm not sure where the washer is and how to stop it from dripping. It started out very slow and it has gotten worse. Any help would be appreciated.

Must have some nasty water, replace faucet and have the water tested to see how it should have been treated to prevent future issues.

If I could get the dripping stopped that would suffice for now. I thought maybe the washer was under the screw on the end but it doesn't appear there is one there currently. Is it possible that it is on the inside of the faucet?

thanks!
