How to center up loose faucet in stone counter tops?

The counter top installers bored the holes through our new soapstone counters. The faucet has two pipes that run down through it, at 1/2" each. The holes are like 1 1/2" in diameter, which I assume is standard size for a singe faucet. The trim on the faucet covers the hole, so no issue there. Any recommendations on a bushing to center up the pipes in the counter top? Right now they are loose and move around.

I thought about maybe some pvc pipe or a wood disc cut down to act as a bushing between the faucet and the counter top.

Thoughts ?

I would have thought that that faucet has a rubber O ring on top and a plastic or brass nut on its underside and just tighten it down...

I've never heard of having to use a bushing... it should just friction tight down...????

Re: How to center up loose faucet in stone counter tops?

There is a nut on the bottom of each pipe, I am sure I was being to easy on it for fear of cracking the counter tops. The instructions do specify a 1 1/2 hole, I just thought it would make sense to have something help center it. Guess I will just tighten up the nut and be done with it.

"Snug" the nuts/fasteners and then check/double check their position before cinching them down tight.

Add a small bead of clear silicone around the edge of the hole. Then tighten the under deck nuts as tight as possible while holding the faucet in position. After it cures it will act as a gasket and adhesive.
