Help! New Vanity, PVC sizes don't match

Hi! New to this particular area of DIY projects: got a new bathroom sink that I want to install. The problem? The vanity comes with a drain that's 1 1/4, and the trap I have coming out of the wall is 1 1/2. Hopefully there is a simple solution I could find at a local Lowes or Home Depot to connect the different sizes? Please speak slowly and use small words - I'm not up on the lingo/terminology yet, though I could look stuff up. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

You need a trap adapter. Like this.

If you have an existing 1.5" trap adapter, all you need is a 1.5" by 1.25" washer.
