HELP! is it better to finish rough in plumbing myself or have the plumber do it?

Hi everyone this is my first post,

I am building a kit home so my options are endless, they even come with pre punched walls to run plumbing and electric through.

my issue is I don't know if it would be better (and cheaper) to just have the plumber do the rough in plumbing and I do the rest or have them finish it all.

also what do you think some prices for both would me. the home is around 2500 sq ft with 2.5 bath and kitchen?

Your answer depends on several things---

If it is a permited job (houses usually are) and the plumbers name is on the permit--then let the plumber do the trim out---

If you're listed as the plumber--and you hire out the rough in--then you can perhaps save some cash by doing the final hook ups.

Costs vary by location and site conditions and the reputation of the general contractor.

If you are going to be the general contractor, expect to pay a bit more than a pro--as the plumber will expect some difficulties caused by your inexperience.
