Goulds Submersible Pump

Is this brand new pump not running or is pumping back into water??? Model 25GS30 Control box Centipro model CB3412MC is putting out 140 volts on yellow lead, 290 volts on red lead, 115 volts on black lead when float switch turns on control panel. When pump first installed it pumped and did not finish filling tanks. This is the voltage readings that we have now on the pump, don't know previous when functioning. Fuses all good. No bubbles in water. Pump is 25ft below water surface in lake. Need it to pump 15k gallons, only pumpled 3k gallons and not pumping now but voltage readings are being sent to pump.

Re: Goulds Submersible Pump

Did it sit unused for a while in a new heavily chlorinated well?

I don't know how i get these readings should only be about 115 . How does the the capacitor start work? Does ot only readvoltage when motor first starts ?

According to specs the 25GS30 requires a 3 HP motor to run it. No way it should only be about 115. Just out of curiosity why a well pump? Seems like a traditional pump with a long intake hose and weighted intake filter would be easier.

Re: Goulds Submersible Pump

This is a 3hp submersible, needs to sit 25ft below in lake, pumps up hill 1800 ft, this system has performed fine, simply needed to replace worn out pump in kind. After being hooked up it ran then stopped after two hours. When checking each power leg I have 115 volts on yellow & black output leg from control panel and I have 249 volts on red leg. Can't figure out why its stopped working altogether now???

Re: Goulds Submersible Pump

Sounds like you need to pull it and check it out before anything else can happen. Something could have clogged it or a connection could be loose. Take it into shallow water and test it there without being connected to the pipe setup and see what it does there.

What's the total head on the setup?
