Delta shower valve with stops adjust?

Ok I have a Delta shower valve with the shut off stops successfully installed but now I have to turn the water back on at the stops?

How many turns? Turn all the way out? Will they fall out of hit some sort of limit??

Thanks

Re: Delta shower valve with stops adjust?

A picture would help. However, if it is a shower valve with built in stops, then it will either be quarter turn or turn out style. The quarter turn may not have stops, so just turn till slot is inline with pipe and should be ok. If it is a turn out style, turn the stops counter clockwise until they stop. As long as the packing nuts are secure, you should not have any problems

Re: Delta shower valve with stops adjust?

If you turn them too far they will come out. On my recent bathroom remodel I just adjusted them with the water running until turning them further didn't visibly increase the flow, then turned them back in just a bit for safety. I think there were 3 full threads visible from the top when I stopped.

I'm just a DIY guy though, and hopefully someone will come along with a better answer than mine.
