In my jurisdiction the permit is actually owned by the building owner. So I as the homeowner can obtain the permit and if drawings etc are required I have to get them from my architect, engineer or contractor and submit them with application. I don't need to know anything about the topic if I am not doing the work. Or I can have my contractor act as my agent and obtain the permits in my stead. There is normally an extra fee payable to the contractor for this service . Money well spend in my book. If I pull the permit I can work on most things in my personally owned single family dwelling but the work still needs to inspected and meet current requirements .

That might be a local thing. But Ohio has taken the view that the homeowner is allowed to do his own work as long as it is inspected to code. That does not mean hiring a non licensed person to do the work though.

Re: Check my DWV setup please

Get the drain supported please. That 3 inch pipe for a hanger is such a waste. LOL

Re: Check my DWV setup please

Yeah, that was temporary. It was late and I just wanted to make sure the fresh glue didn't sag and lose the slope since I knew I didn't have hangers on hand and I wasn't going to be back with them until today.
