Canít get water to turn warm

In my bathroom I turn on the hot water and the pressure is great, but no matter how long I let the water run, it wonít get warm. It is only happening in this bathroom. Any suggestions?

Re: Canít get water to turn warm

It could happen with just the tub or shower. But I dont see how with the sink.

You should turn on just the hot on the sink and see if you can hear water running when you put your ear close to the water heater.

If it's happening in the shower/tub, there is a setting behind the handle.

Agree with other posters. Check that first. What fixtures? All? May just be a setting issue.

What kind of pipes are running to that bathroom? Maybe old galvanized piping? Just a suggestion.

Do you have a thermostatic mixer in the bathroom? If so it may be faulty or set incorrectly. I don't have these myself but I just read about them while installing a new water heater.

No, I just noticed it this week. I’m not sure exactly how long it has been happening.

Our house is only 3 years old, built by Lennar, so I’m sure the pipes are modern.

There is no shower in that 1/2 bath, and this isn’t is only happening in this sink.

I don’t know about a thermostatic mixer. I don’t think so.

I'd bet half of my social security check the above is correct and that the modern must have technology has screwed up once again.

Re: Canít get water to turn warm

Maybe a dumb question but what happens when you turn on just the cold water? If it is a single-control tap, perhaps the mixing valve has failed. Many builders aren't noted for installing high-end fixtures.

So what else is there besides the sink that is not getting hot water.
I still have not understood the answer to that question yet.

Re: Canít get water to turn warm

Request for more details:
Is it a 2nd floor bathroom?
Do the feed pipes travel through an outside wall?
Does it only have a toilet & a sink?
Have you double checked all fixtures, in the house?
List all the fixtures & where they are located.
