Can I use a bathroom sink plumbing and add an additional sink?

I have one bathroom sink in this bathroom. Just a thought If I remove the counter and get 2 small/medium size sinks can I install them near each other (kind of the same location my old sink was) and use the existing plumbing from the existing sink for both sinks. I would understand I would not get the full amount of water if both sinks are on at the same time. It is not necessary for the small use of a sink in a bathroom. Would I be able to put one sink on at a time and at times use both sinks at the same time? I really do not understand plumbing. Would I be looking for headaches doing this? thanks for your input.
