Best tool to remove hair from clogged bathroom sink "elbow" in pipe below sink?

My bathroom sink has the typical "elbow/twisty" shaped to the pipe below
the sink inside the bathroom sink cabinet and I it gets clogged once every year with hair/gook etc.

What is the best solution or tool to fix this from the sink top?

(please note that one option I am trying to avoid is to take apart the "elbow/turn" pipe connections below the sink because I had a really hard time getting the pipes back together for some odd reason).

I once hired a plumber and had to pay him $50 for just a visit to clean out hair out of my shower drain, and all he did was use some kind of plastic, bendable stick with a little "hook" at the end of it. All he did was reach into shower drain pipe and use the hook on that thing to pull a giant ball of hair out with $50 in his pocket, he was on his way. Is that what I should use? If so, what is the name of it?

Or should I invest in a "snake/coil" tool? The sink hole is very small (Home Depot cheap sink).

Thanks in advance for responding to this post!!!!!!!

It's called a trap, should be about 1 min. job to remove dump out and replace.
I've used on of these on a tub drain, but it's not going to be able to get it all out like removing the trap.

Use "THE WORKS" toilet bowl cleaner.

Dissolves the hair, soap scum, and gunk.

$2.00 and wait a 15 minutes, then pour a pot of boiling water in the drain to flush it out.

In addition to to dropping the trap, you should also pull the pivot rod from the drain assembly, if you haven't done so. You often get a hair ball catching on the rod.

By pulling the pivot rod and pop up stopper while the trap is removed, you can look thru the vertical run, insuring it is clear.

It is often a hair ball on the pivot rod/tail of the stopper causing slow draining, not the trap.

I just use a piece of stiff wire with a bend at the end to produce a hook.

Or use Bio clean with no problem again.

I've always used a wire coat hanger with the end turned back into a hook. You might also try one of those flexible extending claw tools sold in auto parts stores.
