Bathtub fixture trim spacer

I am attempting to upgrade my shower trim on an old american standard valve.

The valve comes out a little too far from the wall. When I attached the escutcheon, it sits right on the valve and I am not able to secure the escutcheon cap set.

Currently I have two escutcheons attached (one small and one large to help gain some space but it is not enough. Wondering if they make a spacer to bring the escutcheon plate out from the wall a half inch so there is room to insert the cap set into the hole.

Does someone make a thicker escutcheon approx 1/2 - 3/4" thick? Ones I've seen are 1/4"
