Bathtub faucet broken off

Ok so first of all, I feel I should mention that I live in a mobile home.
My daughter broke the faucet off of her bathtub. I'd like to bypass the faucet altogether and it just work as a shower. I have tried to google how to do this but I'm having a hard time with it. I'd like to buy something like a switch to put in place of the faucet. Does anyone know what this would be called or how to do this?
I'd like to use the same knows if that's possible.

P.S. The reason we are not just replacing the faucet, is because she has done this twice now and I feel like this is the only way to keep her from doing it again.

Re: Bathtub faucet broken off

Ive never heard of a switch in that position, but if it's an easy repair just replace it because if you take that challenge away she may find something else to break that's difficult to repair.

Re: Bathtub faucet broken off

There should be a stub of plumbing at the outlet that the faucet slides over in most cases.

I suppose if you want to cap off that plumbing stub, you could and by doing so, make the tub outlet into forever shower mode.

She claims it's an accident. I'm taking that excuse away from her.
