Re: Basket strainer leaking

You need a helper, some plumbers putty and this tool. http://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-Baske...X147/204218605

Remove the assembly, clean, apply new putty and then secure it. The plumbers putty goes on the lip that sits inside the bottom of the sink.

Re: Basket strainer leaking

Do you happen to be overseas or is this a mobile home?
Reason I ask that basket does not look like anything I've seen in the US.
I would never install a plastic strainer.
Any plastic ones I've had to replace where cracked.
In the US there also would have been a rubber gasket on the bottom and a paper slip ring that looks like it's missing or rotted out in that picture.

Lmao.. hilarious you say that.. I was watching YouTube videos and thought that my basket strainer didn't look like anything I saw in videos. I live in canada and it's in my home. There's some stickers on it even that say it was installed in 2012. Maybe I'm better just replacing it?
