Basement shower into open floor drain question

Hi all,

Lurker here with a question for yall:

I have a drop-in shower in my basement which i'm looking to convert to a full framed in and tiled shower but the plumbing has me a little concerned. I'd like to re-use it but not sure if its done to code.

The shower sits on 2x4s and under the shower drain the concrete has been knotched out a few inches to accomodate a P trap. From the P trap the line slopes down, into the concrete and comes out at the open floor drain which is clay.

Heres a quick picture. Can I re-use this? Or do I need to break up the concrete and start searching for the drain pipes?

Without knowing what state you reside in we do not know what plumbing code is applicable.

you cannot have a shower draining into a floor draining, it is against code in Canada. You will need to break open the concrete to find where you can tie in, do you have a toilet and sink in the basement also? also you will need to figure out a way to vent the shower.
