Basement shower drain + main cleanout out backed up

I was sealing up areas in the attic on Saturday including the main vent stack where it exits through the roof. The next day the basement shower drain is backing up and also the main cleanout whenever any huge amount of water is draining ( main floor bathtub and dishwasher on Sunday morning). Could this be due to me sealing that waste vent. I didn't seal the pipe opening but where it enters the vent boot. Just seems odd that this happens a day after I was in the attic. Any help? Is it just coincidence and it is a big clog.

Thanks

I did have main line cleaned out about 1 month ago. But at that time the problem was only limited to basement shower drain backing up when washing clothes. Now the main cleanout is backing up after shower drain backs up. This happens when main floor bathtub drains, toilet, basically everything.

If my main line is clogged, is this something I could snake myself. Tried snaking the main CO with a cheap manual snake with drill attachment. Couldn't get anywhere with it. Could I rent something more powerful or is this best left to the pros?

Pro's. Use a local service plumbing company not one of the nationwide franchises. If the plumber works on commission it will be in his own interest to sell you products and services you may not need.
