Re: Am I silly for wanting to delete my UV filter?? Low water pressure @ taps

You did a bypass, good for you, but you bypassed not just the uv light but also the pre filter.
So now the Question which was the block? The Filter or the UV??

UV light is rather straight forward in that water in and water out the light is in the middle and a sleeve around the light.

When was the last time that the pre filter was changed and what micron is that pre filter?

Im aware i bypassed the sediment filter and the uv, i basically reverted back to the routing that was used before this fancy system was installed, and it worked.

The filter is 5micron, as recommended by the manufacturer, changed about a month ago, as I stated

I removed the sediment filter this evening, closed my bypass valve, and flow dropped again.

I have all the fittings/pex needed to redo the system and delete alot of unnecessary fittings and 90s

A little more streamline and less janky looking, shutoff valve is off of the bladder tank T at the bottom, kind of hidden in the picture. Uv system completely cutout

Flow increased again aswell, marginally, could be in my head, but alot better than last week.

Found no blockages in any of the piping I removed. Safe to say the sediment filter was the problem

Have you had the water tested again?

I use a system quite similar to yours (although different manufacturers) and have no pressure problems at all even with a 1 micron sediment filter. I was wondering if possibly the filter cannister was installed backwards. There is usually an inlet and outlet labeled.

Bask in good book! I just noticed your location. Follow the collection and labeling instructions closely or they might reject the sample. Also, watch your timing - the sample has to be fresh, and it's different if you are able to take to a local lab vs. just a local health unit office since they have to ship it to a lab.
