Adding rain shower head

Hey all, I am redoing my main shower. I have 1/2" supply lines to the control valve. I am wanting to add a rain shower head on a 2nd line and keep the existing shower head also. Will the 1/2" supply be large enough for both heads? I was also going to install a valve after the control valve so one head could be shut off if both were not being used at the same time.
Thanks

A 3/4" line would give you almost twice the flow of a 1/2" line, low flow, low pressure.

the control valve will only give so much gpm flow regardless of supply lines to it..does the control valve have 3/4 taps on it? whats the rated gpm?

Won't be ideal, but yes it will usually work just fine.

Just did this exact same thing with 1/2" lines at a beach house, and it works just fine. Yes, there is a noticeable loss of output when both are on, but it's not the end of the world.

I would add a another valve so you can control which is on. The rain shower or the shower head.

I'll agree with this. Even though the boss lady said she didn't want it, I wish I had.
