1 1/4" to 1 1/2"

I am installing a sink in a bathroom for a relative, and discovered that the drain in the wall has a 1 1/2 inch male. The sink drain is 1 1/4" as I expected.

I found a reducer washer that works and doesn't leak (yet) - but it doesn't feel as solid as I would like. I was looking for an adapter that would screw in to 1 1/2 male and provide and 1 1/4" male to connect the arm to.

Thanks!

Sounds like you did it right.
Most trap adapters come with that 1-1/2 X 1-1/4 washer.
Picture would be nice so we can see what your seeing.

Re: 1 1/4" to 1 1/2"

I would consider the 1 1/2" a plus.

Use all 1 1/2" J-pipe and P- trap and use the washer between p trap and sink tail piece.
