Little slim light for corner

We took away a big drum table and big lamp next to our couch.
The area was too crowded and cluttered. But then I missed the
light in the corner. I shopped for a pole lamp, however, everything
was too contemporary and didn't fit with the rest of the LR.

So, I already had this slim lamp that I liked, and decided that we could
make a 'table lamp' instead of a pole lamp.
I found this little Indian elephant at good will for 2.50. I worked him
into my design for a Bombay-ish look. He had two broken husks and a
broken toe. We made him new tusks and a new toe. and cleaned
and polished him up. We also made him a gold platform to match
the top.
I took the inspiration for this piece from our
charger table that we made recently.

Made an overhung top and painted it gold. Hit the lamp with some gold
paint as well. The gold and black broach was also a good will find for 50
cents.

I also took a pic of it lit up. We have one of those curly light bulbs
that is 60 watts, but only uses 15 watts. I keep it on most of the day
when I'm home. The bonus is it lights up the wall unit.

I'll post a lit pic, as soon as I find it.

Lit up, and we're only using 15 watts.

Re: Little slim light for corner

Well, I changed off the lamps...this tall thin lamp was discovered in
our guest room closet while I was cleaning closets. I totally forgot
about it.
Someone once said to me, they put things away for awhile, and drag
them out at a later time for a change. That's a real good decorating tip.
As you can see here I applied that trick, and think it looks better.

I put the lamp that was on the slim table on the piano, and put the lamp
(pinapple lamp) on the server in the dining room. So I got a new uplift
in two rooms

I also purchased a new lamp for our antique end table, it arrived
yesterday and was mint green, so I painted it antique gold.

It sure is a happy lamp. pics to follow.
