Wood patterned porcelain tile

Hey all! Going to start a little project of re-flooring the master bedroom. I have always loved the wood patterned porcelain tiles but does anyone have any real first hand input on it?

I like it for the durability and water resistance and it looks like wood. Ive seen many pics where its really hard to tell the difference unless you step on it or look carefully for grout lines. i do like wood too very much. It gives a much warmer feeling and it seems much easier to install. I have 2 small poms which prob wouldn't do much to hardwood or engineered wood flooring but is there any real reason to go with porcelain?

What do you have for a sub floor?
If it's not a slab what's the floor joist width, spacing, free spans.
I just can not imagine a tile floor for a bedroom. Going to be one hard cold floor.
